HC Wraxall and Co has been trading since 1946 and is still run by the Wraxall family. The company started off as a cottage industry hand selecting cobbles on a Dorset beach. The cobbles were carried in buckets to waiting tractors and then sent to the Potteries where they were used for grinding glaze.

The company still provides cobbles sorted in the same way today, but providing roofing shingle for ballast on flat roofs and all kinds of stones for industrial and decorative uses now forms the backbone of the business. English pebbles still predominate, though some of our exotic material is sourced from as far away as India.

All our materials are clean, natural stone. Some are associated with modern building practices such as shingle for warm and inverted flat roofs, alongside more traditional material such as knapped flint and hand selected cobbles.

Our landscaping range includes limestone and granite chippings for low maintenance modern gardens, boulders to provide impressive focal points, and slate and sandstone to add warmth and colour all year round.
