Battersea Power Station Regeneration

Project: Battersea Powerstation Redevelopment

Location: Nine Elms, London

Main Contractor: Sir Robert McAlpine, Mace

Architect: WilkinsonEyre, SimpsonHaugh, dRMM, Frank Gehry, Foster + Partners

Description: The Battersea Power Station regeneration project was approved for development in 2010, slowly being nurtured there-after into the venue that it is today. The project is still ongoing with Phases 2, 3 and 4 yet to be completed. The Powerstation is a multi-use area, capitulated of: Office, retail, dining and social space. Mixed in with an amalgam of high end and affordable accommodation.

Material Supplied: Wraxalls has supplied various product types to the project. From Pre-cast British Standard Paving, Substrate media for green roofing, to our trademark 40/20mm roofing shingle. The blend of these materials has given a rather striking birds-eye view to the development. A feat that Wraxalls is honoured to have played a role in.

Timeframe: As referred to previously in this article, the regeneration project is still ongoing. Hence our role as a key roofing supplier for the project has yet to cease. However, our first involvement with the project came in January 2013. Making our role within the project apparent for nearly 7 years.
